Seller checklist (Northwest Territories)
- Be prepared for an in-person transfer. Transfers are available in-person only at a driver and vehicle office.
- Bring required documents. The office lists proof of valid insurance, NVIS (if applicable), bill of sale, existing registration, and photo identification.
- For used vehicles, complete the paperwork. Driver and Vehicle Services accepts a registration certificate with buyer/seller information completed or a fully executed bill of sale.
Buyer steps after the sale
- Visit a driver and vehicle office with the required documents to transfer the registration.
